Our Memorial Garden Update
As you all know, this has been one very hot and dry summer and our garden has truly done her very best to look beautiful for visitors, despite the harsh weather. Only recently did we discover that she has had two other reasons for her struggle: 1) The thirsty and hungry neighborhood voles have been busy feasting on the Russian Sage, the Stella Doro Lilies and other plants AND 2) We found our automatic drip watering system shut off time and time again!! Apparently someone took it upon themselves to render the main water spigot inoperable, in total disregard for our beautiful plantings in memory of our children gone too soon. How sad!! In response we have recently made an effort to help her look her very best (and still left plenty of seeds for the birds) until the first hard frost.
Sometime late October (TBD) we'll be asking for volunteers to join us (We could sure use the help) as we 'close up the garden for the winter'. Please be on the lookout for that email. Plan to come out and have fun visiting with other chapter members, helping as you are able, and serving our chapter in loving memory of our children gone too soon. Thank you!!
